Enamel Jewellery is an ancient craft. Using Copper Plate, the
shapes for the pendants are hand-cut; the glass powder (enamel) is then added
on top and burned in a kiln at a high temperature until it melts. This gives a unique look and makes these
pendants stand out. There are a wide variety of colours and techniques that can be used to add even
more interest.
This craft was passed down to me by my father; we used to supply shops in Cape Town in the 1980s, from Tyger Valley to the Waterfront. I have exhibited at a number of markets including Somerset West, Hartenbos and Kirstenbosch.
Now I'd like to introduce my exclusive new range of pendants to the public: hand-made enamel jewellery for those who appreciate fine craftwork.
Prices vary from R135 to R220, depending on shape and size and the amount of enamel used for the item.
