Globaldrift is the name that came to me, whilst collecting driftwood on the Southern Tip of Africa coastline. I grew up on this coastline and after travelling and working abroad (mainly London) I decided to return and settle in the true paradise of this world.
In 2006, I started my business Element Landscapes, that has established itself quite nicely in the area.....
My passion for nature (coastal fauna and flora, especially) and the conservation thereof , as well as having a sustainable living mindset, led me to the Globadrift idea.
Globaldrift is, collecting driftwood (ON FOOT), as well as other materials, that wash up on these shores and create one-of-a-kind functional art pieces. Globaldrift is 3 years old now. Riek Creative Art Gallery (Ulrich Riek-Napier) stock my product and have sold a number of pieces, to date.
Element Landscapes, and single parenting (4yr old son) have not allowed me time to do the marketing/advertising that is needed to get Globaldrift off the ground. I am seriously trying to make this work, in the hope of motivating and generating work for the struggling coastal community of Arniston, in particular.
Globaldrift products are a fusion of :
- Driftwood, Recycled Material (also Indigenous Plants)
- Lovely Coastal Exeditions
- Sustainable, Creative Mindset
